While on my journey of self-discovery and spirituality, I have learned several ways to channel positive energy, not only for myself but for those that I interact with. Although my primary focus is to bring more positivity into my life and interactions with others, I’ve learned that to be someone who can give this type of energy, it must come from within.
I’m pretty sure most of you are familiar with the law of attraction, which to summarize, is a belief that what you focus on, be it positive or negative, can directly affect the type of experiences in your life. While this is true, in my opinion, it’s a very passive aggressive way to change the things around you. Throughout my research, I stumbled upon an interview that Wayne Dyer did with Oprah, and he introduced a new disposition that changed the way I perceive the law of attraction. He shared that we, in fact, attract into our lives what we ARE, rather than what we WANT.
He also shared the mantra, “I am,” which I have been utilizing for some time. The concept behind this mantra is that what we say we are is what we can become. For example, saying things like, “I am tired” or “I am depressed” can bring upon negative energy and that energy will manifest itself through your actions, which in turn affects the events in your life. Instead, positive affirmations like, “I am happy,” “I am strong” or even simply “I am” can reassure you and open yourself up to receive positivity.
Like any other muscle, your brain can be trained and conditioned. You can make a conscious decision to train your mind to think of yourself and the world around you in a negative or positive light. Although life isn’t perfect, and challenges arise, it’s up to you how you react to these challenges; and how you react contributes to your character.
The art of manifestation goes beyond wishing for material things or wealth. The art of manifestation encompasses who you want to be and the footprint you want to leave in this world. Cultivating qualities such as generosity, peace, love, honesty, and kindness will change your life and these qualities will not only exude from you but will find ways to manifest themselves in your life.
It’s not easy to make such a conscious mental change, but it’s very possible. With discipline and time, you’ll begin to see how changing your mindset to a positive one directly affects your life.
